There are people who keep popping in and out of my life, and Joanne Olson is one of them. We met at a playwriting group many years ago, but since then, we’ve only had a handful of exchanges.

We also connect in visual realm. Joanne, a documentary photographer, specializes in capturing candid images of families. Her work beautifully illustrates the deeply human connections we all share. For a more in-depth look at her photography, visit her website

Joanne is a person who leads with her heart, but then quickly follows with her head. It’s a push-pull thing that leads to unexpected places, but what always stands out for me is her reverence for the internal journey.

Joanne’s approach gives me permission to consider the uncharted territory of the soul as one of the guideposts that informs my choices.

In EPISODE #4 “How the Light Gets In”, Joanne talks about how solo travelling and books have brought love, light, and truth to her life.
